Pipe Spring National Monument
About
Pipe Spring National Monument is a small U.S. National Park Service unit in northern Arizona, U.S., that commemorates the area’s rich Native American, early European explorer, and Mormon pioneer history. Surrounded by the Kaibab Band of Paiute Indians Reservation, which became an IDA International Dark Sky Community in 2015, the monument commemorates the importance of the pioneers in the history of the so-called ‘Arizona Strip’ region of the U.S. Programs at the monument celebrate and interpret life on the frontier, including the dark night skies known both to the pioneers and area residents today.
