Kosmos Stargazing Resort & Spa is located in Colorado’s San Luis Valley, a high desert landscape known for its expansive horizons, minimal light pollution, and some of the darkest night skies in the United States. Surrounded by wide open spaces, mountain views, and quiet desert scenery, the resort offers visitors an immersive escape centered on astronomy, natural darkness, and a deeper connection to the outdoors. Guests can spend their evenings beneath brilliant star-filled skies, experience the Milky Way stretching overhead, and enjoy the stillness of a landscape shaped by the rhythms of day and night.
As a DarkSky Approved Lodging destination, Kosmos has implemented responsible outdoor lighting practices designed to reduce skyglow and preserve the quality of the nighttime environment while maintaining guest comfort and safety. The resort offers guided stargazing experiences and astronomy programming that help visitors better understand the cosmos and the importance of protecting dark skies. Future plans for a dedicated Stargazing Park and expanded observing opportunities will further establish Kosmos as a destination for travelers seeking meaningful nighttime experiences in one of Colorado’s most naturally dark regions.
